gratitude

For me, inspiration and the urge to transform that inspiration on the canvas usually comes to me in a flash. One day, I was meditating and I was reflecting how blessed I am with wonderful things happening in my art world….my husband supporting me in every way …encouraging family behind my passion for art….having all the material comforts that I could ask for.

And from Indian Culture perspective -

Folding hands is a common cultural practice, people greet each other by joining their palms and call it “Namaste” in Hindi language. The reason behind this gesture of joining both the palms signifies respect & reverence. It is variously used as a gesture of prayer, gratitude, thanks, request, honor, expresses politeness, courtesy and hospitality from one person to the other. It enhances the spiritual growth. The act of greeting develops the attitude of surrender and gratitude.

This gesture is commonly found in 13th century Hindu temple reliefs.

It is also used in yoga practices to achieve several benefits. Scientifically, the right hand constitutes of positive energy and left hand constitutes of negative energy and when we fold our hands the electromagnetic field of the body becomes neutral. Once the polarity gets neutralize by joining hands, it creates a reflex action in the X cranial nerve which runs from the brain through the face and thorax to the abdomen. This phenomenon creates a resonance rhythm in the brain which creates a state of meditation in our minds. It is a "centering pose" which, according to practitioners, helps to alleviate mental stress and anxiety.

And from my spiritual point of view-

We often take for granted the very things that most deserve our gratitude. It can transform common days into thanksgiving, turn routine jobs into joy and change ordinary opportunities into blessings. It shifts your perception to such an extent that it changes the world you see. It is a powerful process for shifting your energy and bringing more of what you want into your life.

Be grateful for what you already have and you will attract more good things.
